Located in the beautiful Moreno valley, Angel Fire is the fastest growing community in northern New Mexico. That growth is powered by the presence of Angel Fire Resort. Boasting the only two high speed quad detachable chair lifts in the state, Angel Fire has some of the best skiing in the southwest. Angel Fire also has an 18 hole PGA rated golf course.

For the skiers and snowboarders in your family:

For the skiers... Angel Fire Resort completed a major expansion in time for the 2001-2002 season! Three terrain parks and the only half pipe in New Mexico will provide new thrills to both skiers and shredders...

In 2004, Angel Fire Resort hosted the United States of America Snowboard Association National Championships for the first time -- following in the path blazed by Telluride, Waterville Valley, Mammoth, and Sunday River. All three of our sons qualified and competed - it was crazy in our household that week!

The Nordic Center trails have been widened for better grooming. The yurt restaurant at the Summit provides hamburgers and nachos as well as a stupendous view!

Children ages 4-16 can join the local ski and snowboard team to improve their personal on-snow performance or learn how to race. Angel Fire has kids that commute from Santa Fe and Albuquerque every weekend to ride the mountain with their buddies. Kids from the team compete throughout the Rocky Mountain Region up to the Junior Olympic level in skiing and the national level in snowboards.

Linda is a ski instructor here and enjoys it immensely. More than half of the ski and snowboard instructors are certified through the professional Ski Instructors of America. The program is housed in a beautiful Ski School building that was completed for the 1999 season.

Angel Fire Resort boasts the only high speed quad detachable chairlifts in New Mexico-- not one but TWO! The Resort is also continuing to expand the ski area by cutting more runs...stand by for future announcements!

For the mountain bikers:

For the serious mountain biker, the Chile Express quad chairlift has hooks mounted on the backs of the chairs to carry your bike to the top of the mountain so you can bike back down in the warm weather.

Angel Fire Resort regularly hosts major mountain bike events including NCAA sanctioned championship races and biking clinics.

The annual Chile Express Mountain Bike Race draws athletes from all over. And this year, the NCAA mountain bike championships will be held in Angel Fire in October. We have great trails!!!
